Leadville, CO
Molleur Construction, Inc. is located in Leadville, Co. and offers construction services throughout the State of Colorado, primarily as an Excavation Contracting Firm.
This family owned business was established in 1970 by Marcel Molleur, a 2nd generation "logger" from the green mountains of the state of Vermont. Marcel owned and operated the business successfully from 1970 until his death in 2000. Since that time the business has been owned and operated by the founder's eldest son, Scott Molleur. The family enterprise has operated continuously from the same facilities in Leadville for more than 40 years.
The company is literally rooted in the great Colorado Ski Industry when as the crew foreman for Asplundh Tree Service Marcel and his crew of canadian loggers performed tree clearing operations on the first ski trails and mountain access roads at Keystone Mountain in the summer of 1970, for owners Max & Edna Dercum. When Asplundh Corp refused further involvement in the project, Marcel pursued the great American dream, incorporated, and during the next 20 years went on to clear a vast number of ski trails (in many cases ALL ski trails) for the likes of Keystone Mountain, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Winter Park, Mary Jane, and numerous others. Keystone Mountain's ski trail The Frenchman and Winter Park/Mary Jane's mogul run Drunken Frenchmen were named so in recognition of the considerable contributions this man and his company made at these resorts.
Those that know the history of the ski industry and its impact on the mountain communities of Colorado know that by the late 1980's a majority or the ski trails we now enjoy were largely in place. Indeed no NEW ski mountains have been approved by the US Forest Service in Colorado since approximately 1985. And while these years could easily be termed "boom times" ...they really have paled in comparison to the growth they have inspired. On mountain resorts and other amenities, as well as the considerable development experienced in the surrounding mountain communities during these past 20 years is nothing short of remarkable. Molleur Construction, Inc. has successfully followed this market progression by expanding our construction service offerings, predominantly our excavation services. We have gained considerable experience during the past 20 years on projects such as Municipal Wet Utility Pipelines, Commercial Building Sitework, Residential Subdivisions, Residential Sitework and Environmental Remediation activities for historical mining sites.
The 3rd Generation of Molleur Construction, Inc. has adapted to changes within the industry and have charged forward with a fresh attack. Marcel Molleur's (Founder) grandsons now make up the bulk of the team. Scott Molleur's sons, Brennan and Collin, have both made sizable contributions to help the company continue to thrive. Brennan and Collin have spent their summers in the mountains working since they were teenagers. Learning how to operate heavy machinery and taking on varioius challenges allowed for growth not only as construction workers but as young men. Now older, Brennan can boast 10 years of experience at the age of 26 years old. Which is why he makes an exceptional team leader and project manager. Brennan is comitted to the company and is determined to continue the tradition of excellence at Molleur Construction, Inc.
The most recent addition to the team is Quinn O'Neill, another grandson of Marcel. Working closely with Brennan, he is eager to assist in any way the team needs. All together, the mountain lifestyle and work ethic has been carryed on through generations. And with compounded 50 years of experience, Molleur Construction is the tip of the spear in the Colorado Construction industry.
